PROGRAMS

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CRIMINOLOGY

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Three to five years after graduation, the BS in Criminology alumni shall:

    1. have career progression in their field of specialization;
    2. demonstrate globally competitive skills and Lycean values; and
    3. engage in community and/or national development.

Program Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)
At the completion of the BS in Criminology program, the students are expected to:

    1. Conduct criminological research on crimes, crime causation, deviant behavior, victims, and offenders utilizing appropriate methodologies and theoretical frameworks.
    2. Internalize and uphold human rights and promote victim welfare in all facets of criminal justice practice.
    3. Demonstrate broad knowledge and professional competence in law enforcement administration, public safety, and criminal justice practice.
    4. Utilize the principles and techniques of criminalistics and forensic science in the detection, investigation, and resolution of crimes.
    5. Apply the principles of criminal law, rules on evidence, and criminal procedure in the performance of duties within the justice system.
    6. Ensure the welfare, rehabilitation, and reintegration of offenders into the community by implementing restorative justice and correctional programs.
